This weekend is another official beginning of the High Holy Day season when we observe Silchot the late night service of reflection, tomorrow night, Saturday  September 20th at 8:30pm.  The month of Elul began in September is also another “beginning’ of the season.  Saturday night we’ll make havdallah, study a bit of text and have a chance to hear Fran Burgess lead the Silchot services with the Rabbi.  Please be with us for this evening of prayer and reflection.

Shabbat Shalom

Dear CBS congregants,

High Holidays are rapidly approaching and I am very excited to be sharing them with you.  On Saturday night, we have the first in a series of services that begin our "Days of Awe".  The S'lichot service is one of my personal favorites.  It is a time to open our hearts and begin the introspection that characterizes the season.  I have chosen music that will invite participation and to that end, the CBS web site now has recordings of many of the congregational melodies and responses that you will hear throughout the holiday services.  These recordings were made to teach the choir, but I invite you to download them.  They can be found on the home page under my bio.  Many will be familiar to you. Please join Rabbi Postrel and me as we worship together this Saturday night.

Shared desserts at 8:30, service at 9pm.

L'Shanah Tovah!
