Youth / NFTY

The goal of our teen programs at Congregation Beth Shalom is to instill a sense of joy and positivity about being Jewish. Our goal is to impart Jewish content and identity to our teens, but in a way that is based on relationships and experiences as much as it is on texts. We encourage our teens to explore, question, and debate all within the context of Jewish values and ideals.

For over seventy five years, NFTY - The Reform Jewish Youth Movement, has offered thousands of young people the opportunity to explore and live Reform Judaism.

NFTY is a movement that builds strong, welcoming, inspired communities through teen-powered engagement. Together, our teens pursue tikkun olam, personal growth, youth empowerment, and deep connections, all rooted in Reform Judaism.

At CBS, the Yachad program was developed to provide a place for our teens to come together to share experiences and work for the good of the community and to build comradery with others.  This year, CBS will partner with other Synagogues to acquaint our teens with other Jewish youth in the Bay area.
