The film centers on Jewish characters alongside Hanukkah: 8 Crazy Nights is a 2002 animated musical comedy-drama about a 33-year-old troublemaker named Davey Stone, who is given a chance at redemption during the holiday season. After getting into trouble, he is sentenced to community service as a youth basketball referee by a judge who is persuaded by the elderly referee, Whitey. Davey’s time with Whitey and his childhood sweetheart, Jennifer, forces him to confront the traumatic events from his past that led to his destructive behavior and hatred for the holidays.
