Our Mission

Congregation Beth Shalom is the Center of Jewish Life in the Napa Valley!

We are a contemporary Reform synagogue and an active member of the Union for Reform Judaism. Our very involved and welcoming congregation supports our synagogue, which provides spiritual guidance for Jewish life and learning, serving Napa County and its environs.

We offer a spiritual and cultural home to all who want to be part of the Jewish community. We are dedicated to exploring, experiencing and studying Judaism, Jewish heritage, Israel and individual well-being in a context inclusive of Jews of all backgrounds and ideologies and non-Jews interested in being associated with the Jewish community.

Congregation Beth Shalom is:

A Beit Kenesset/House of Gathering – We embrace Jews from all backgrounds, and everyone is welcome at our synagogue. Our diverse CBS community is comprised of people of all ages and family compositions, including LGBTQ, Jews-by-birth, Jews-by-choice, and interfaith families.

A Beit Midrash/House of Study – We are a dynamic and engaging community with a wide variety of stimulating educational, spiritual, cultural, and social programs.

A Beit Tefillah/House of Prayer – We are a Reform congregation affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism serving a membership that reflects a range of perspectives and religious and cultural backgrounds.
