The Congregation Beth Shalom teen program (G’dilah, meaning “growth” in Hebrew) creates meaningful experiences for young people starting in 6th grade, combining social connections with deeper Jewish learning.
Through our Youth Group, teens build lasting friendships while exploring their Jewish identity in ways that feel relevant and engaging to their lives.
Hebrew High offers dynamic discussions and activities that let teens drive their own Jewish journey. Rather than traditional classroom learning, our approach encourages teens to explore topics that spark their curiosity and reflect their interests – from contemporary issues to Jewish history, culture, and values.
Empowering Jewish Journeys for Teens
Recent programs have included a variety of events, from purely social activities like bowling nights and cooking classes to in-depth explorations of Jewish life and history. Teens have engaged in discussions about Jews in politics and sports, tackled complex topics such as the relevance of the Holocaust today, and enjoyed creative activities ranging from origami to OuiSi picture games. This blend of fun and learning fosters an environment where lasting friendships form naturally alongside meaningful Jewish connections.
Whether your teen is interested in social justice, current events, Jewish culture, or simply finding their place in our community, Beth Shalom offers a space to grow, learn, and connect.
