The Rebbetzin’s family’s personal journey over four generations traveling from Eastern Europe to Spain(expelled) then to England where her family member was physician to Queen Victoria, then to Jamaica and eventually New Orleans where they lived during the Civil War. Her father was raised in the Jewish Orphans’ Home, recently profiled at The Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience and in Marlene Trestman’s Most Fortunate Unfortunates.
