About the new CBS Jewish Summer Reading Program:

Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child in the new CBS Jewish Summer Reading Program!  The children can read and report on any children's book from the CBS Library-- we have a wide collection of picture books in particular.  Children can also read and report on books they have at home or books they get from the public library, as long as the books feature Jewish characters or storylines.

After reading books at home, the children will then come back to CBS to chat about the books they read with a volunteer or staff member.  Children should be prepared to talk about at least one of the books they have read-- the volunteer/staff member will ask them to retell the plot of the story, and they may ask other questions, such as about the children's favorite characters.  Children can report on a maximum of five books per visit to CBS.

The participating children will be asked to read and report about at least five books over the summer to be eligible to participate in the end-of-summer Pizza and Popsicles dinner, and children who read and report about at least ten books will be eligible for the grand-prize drawing of a $15 gift card to Book Mine.  The children can read and report on more books, if they like, and chapter books can count as multiple books!  Books read to children by their parents also count.
