All CBS teens in 8th-12th grade can join our Shakshuka teens youth group and Hebrew High, our teen eduation program!

The Shakshuka teens youth group typically holds events once a month, which are planned and led by the Shakshuka teens board, with help from the education director.  Past events have included Chanukah parties, hikes, and board game nights.

Hebrew High is a discussion-based education program for teens which takes place once a month on Monday nights during the academic year.  Past topics have included Jewish identity, the Jews and Hollywood, and the 2022 Israeli election.

Hebrew High/Shakshuka Teens Registration, 2023-2024

This form registers your teen for both the once-a-month Hebrew High Jewish education program for teens, as well as the Shakshuka Teens youth group.

Hebrew High: Hebrew high is a teen education program at CBS for teens in grades Post B'Nei Mitzvah - 12.  These sessions will be taught by the Rabbi and the Education Director.  Sessions will be once a month during the academic year on Monday nights, from 7:00-8:30. Each session will start out with dinner from 7-7:30, followed by an hour of learning on topics such as Jewish identity or Israeli-Palestinian relations.  Attendance at 80% or more of Hebrew High sessions per year will enable your teen to apply to a college scholarship.

Shakshuka Teens: This is our youth group for teens.  There will be Shakshuka Teens programs once a month during the academic year, as well as a few events during the summer.  These will mainly be social events or holiday celebrations, such as the Shakshuka Teens Chanukah party.  We may hold some Shakshuka Teen events with the congregations in Sonoma and Petaluma.

We will still ask you to RSVP your teen for each teen event so that we can get an accurate headcount for meals and supplies.

The fee for Hebrew High/Shakshuka Teens will be $180 for the year.  This helps defray the cost of food and supplies.

Financial Aid: No CBS member family is denied a religious education for their children for reasons of financial hardship. If Religious School tuition will place an undue financial burden on your family, please contact Synagogue President Roberta Solomon at: president@cbsnapa.org to make special payment arrangements BEFORE REGISTERING.
